The Manicure Moment: Pink Glitter Nails

by - October 04, 2015

When it comes to nails, I'm not too much into nail art and I prefer simplicity. First of all I'm not patient enough to create tiny details and drawings on my nails, and moreover I wouldn't want to spend hours to do my nails when I only keep my manicures four or five days before changing my nail polish. The only nail art (kind of) that I enjoy doing is the accent nail, especially when it involves glitter. This is what I've done this week, as you can see!
I have decided to use very light colours, staying in the pastels of spring and summer because the weather has been very sunny lately. I love these two Barry M nail polishes and they are great to use. I had to apply three coats of the pink one to have an opaque result (with two coats for the white one, as I'd be applying the glitter afterwards I didn't need a completely opaque finish). The glitter nail polish is from Claire's, I picked it up randomly because the pink and holographic glitter looked amazing and I'm not disappointed because it was quite cheap and it is actually a good nail polish! They have many different glitter nail polishes, so I might get one or two more for the Christmas season. Obviously I used pink glitter to compliment 'Rose Hip'. This manicure would look so much nicer on a lighter skin - sometimes I feel like my skin has too much of a yellow undertone to suit pastel colours, but I love them so much that I don't really care in the end!

What do you think about this manicure? Do you enjoy doing nail art or do you tend to go for more classic manicures yourself?
