In this post, I'm sharing with you photos of my last two days in Edinburgh. This was such a short stay... But here we come to one of the city's main attractions, the castle! It was really interesting to visit, and took us a few hours.
Afterwards, as the weather was so sunny and warm, we changed our plans last minute and skipped the museums to go to the beach instead! I had not properly been to the beach in... years, now that I think of it! Although we did not actually go in the water (let's not be completely crazy!), I really enjoyed that afternoon.
Overall, I was really surprised about how good the weather was during these four days. We couldn't have hoped for better!
In these two days, I loved...
~ visiting the castle and its museums. The War Memorial is such a moving monument, I cannot recommend enough to go and visit it - we should all take a moment to honour the men and women who died for their country and for the people.
~ walking around the old city, among the quirky shops and little cafés. At night, the atmosphere is even more pleasant and magical.
~ trying beautiful vintage dresses in Armstrong's, Grassmarket. They have the most amazing range of items from all decades, and for reasonable prices! The best vintage shop I've ever been to.
~ going to the seaside at Portobello. The weather was so fine, it was a joy to walk on the beach. I treated myself to a 99 flake; it really felt like summer!
~ having a peaceful morning in the Botanic Gardens. I spent all my time taking photos of all the flowers I saw. It is a great place to visit, and the greenhouses were quite impressive!
I leave you with the photos from the last part of my trip below, and I hope you enjoyed this little photo diary!
